Manson A.S.B. Award $10,000 in

G3 Grants to Manson Staff from the

Community Foundation of NCW Manson G3 Fund

1/31/14

By Heidi Neal

In January, the Associated Student Body (ASB) members at Manson High School convened to review grant applications submitted by Manson teachers and staff and awarded $10,000 to winners for various school needs.

Funded by Manson residents and business owners of the Manson Red Apple Market, Jack and Gale Courtney, the Manson Great Giving Grants (G3) provides an opportunity for the class officers to make their school a better place while also participating in the grant-making process.

The A.S.B. students collectively reviewed 18 applications, had thoughtful discussion, determined 14 final recipients, and distributed awards to the staff. Managed by the Community Foundation of NCW, the grants provide funding for school needs and enhancements, and a valuable learning experience for the A.S.B. students.

On Friday, January 31st, the A.S.B. officers, Community Foundation's Director of Community Philanthropy, Denise Sorom, Director of Donor Services and Communications, Jennifer Dolge, and Manson High Principal, Don Vanderholm were the bearers of good news and handed their award letters to the lucky recipients in person.
