3/29 Baseball - Waterville
Manson Baseball March 29th vs. Waterville
From Coach Bill Thompson
The Manson baseball team traveled to play under the lights in Chelan to take on the Shockers in their first home game of the season with a good crowd that braved the wind, rain and cold temperatures.
Senior Curtis McClellan pitched strong for all seven innings with freshman Mikey Pittman catching, but ended up taking the loss as the final score was 4 to 0 in Waterville’s favor when the lights shut off in Chelan.
McClellan gave up 4 runs on 5 hits and walked 9. Senior Bryce Glore shined for the Trojan defense making several nice plays at second base.
The Trojans bats were quiet and 8 men were stranded on base. James Calhoun, an 8th grader, continues to hit well and has hit safely in every game so far after he belted a line drive to left after a tough at bat in the fifth inning. He followed up his hit with a gutsy stolen base. Travis Pittman also had a single for the Trojans and now has 5 hits on the season.
Manson plays next on April 12 at Singleton Park in Manson against Brewster; first pitch 3:35 p.m.
