Alma Franco has been one of Chelan's forces on offense with a real feel for getting the ball into the net.

Since September 26, the Chelan Lady Soccer Team has been playing some excellent soccer against a few good teams. The biggest game this past several weeks came when Chelan was able to hold Cashmere to only two goals while scoring one of their own.

On Saturday, October 3, the girls traveled to Cashmere to take on CTL's first place team and fought "valiantly" said Coach Erik Peterson, Chelan's coach. Chelan's freshman, Heather Poppie, was also able to score a goal against the Bulldogs.

Outstanding defensive play by Itzel Valera, Laurel Drinkwater, Suleyma Bravo and Sammi Cool helped hold the Bulldogs to only two goals on the day. Heather Poppie and Alma Franco supplied some excellent midfield hustle whiled the offensive play by Bianca Ramirez was also noteworthy according to Peterson. Margarita Mendoze was excellent at goal keeping. "This game proved that Chelan is a top contender," reported Peterson.

Chelan's J.V. team tied Cashmere 1-1, with Chelan's Grace Moonie scoring Chelan's goal. The team had great hustle by Karen Juarez, Erika Arechiga, Leah Clark, Lorena Padilla, Vanessa Magana and Adriana Bohorquez.

On Tuesday, October 6, the girls held Okanogan to two goals despite injuries. On
