Sophmore Darcy Austin is taking over where sister Sydney left off after graduating last year. Darcy is getting up into the air and is very capable of hitting the ball hard. She had four kills and 14 digs to help the Goats to a three game victory over Cashmere Tuesday night.

Lady Goats post one more win...

extend league record to 7-0

Chelan's Lady Goats continue to roll through the Caribou Trail League leaving little doubt in their superiority on the volleyball court. On Tuesday evening, the Goats extended their league record to 7-0 by besting the Cashmere Bulldogs 25-8, 25-9, 26-21.

The last game had Cashmere, down two games with nothing to lose. They came out and started swinging at the ball and playing much more aggressive volleyball. The Goats had a slight lapse in concentration and gave up 21 points. "It happens," said Coach Donene Hendricks. "We just let down and didn't play the game we are capable of in that last one."

Jaicee Harris had 15 kills and nine aces to key the victory for the Goats. She was 14/16 at the service line and dug out 11 balls. Jaicee is the only player on the team right now who is using a jump serve and it literally whistles across the net with plenty of top spin and movement. Cashmere's receivers had a hard time handling her serve.

Kelli Bowers was back on the court after missing the Lake Roosevelt game and put up 24 assists, four kills and 18/19 at the service line with four aces. Darcy Austin had 14 digs, four kills, and was 11/12 at the service line with one ace. McKenna Hawkins was 8/8 at the service line with one ace and eight digs on the night.

On Thursday Chelan will host Okanogan for J.V. and Varsity action against the Bulldogs. The C Squad travels to Pateros for a game.
