Thalia Lepley blocks Bridgeport's shot

JV Lady Trojans 25 – Bridgeport 34

The JV Lady Trojans had a tough time on passing the ball against Bridgeport which led to too many turnovers. They had many great attempts at the basket that just did not connect.

Yessenia Escoto led the JV scoring with 10 points and Thalia Lepley had a great night at the board scoring 6 points followed by Amanda Buck with 5 points, Ofelia Rodriguez with 3 points and Sierra Miller with 1 point. Yessenia injured her wrist, but after wrapping it with tape she was back on the court. Mindy Neal, Idalia Guillen and Ally Mendivil provided great offense and defense in the game. Cheyenne Mc Fadden, who broke her wrist mid-season, has done a great job keeping stats for the team and cheering them on.

This ends the 2008-09 season for the JV Lady Trojans. Thank you to Coach Bennett and Coach Hill, all the players for a great season of Trojan basketball and all the parents and fans for your support. A special thank you to photographer, Nancy Miller for capturing the game action for all to enjoy!

 Coach Bennett reports...

The junior varsity girls’ final game was a 34-25 loss at Bridgeport.  Although our record was not very good, I saw major improvement in desire, and knowledge of the game.  The girls are to be commended for their dedication and individual skills improvement.  On most nights we had 5 or more players scoring, and we played well defensively.  I really enjoyed coaching this group and hope they will continue to play in the future.  The winter sports banquet is scheduled for Mar. 10.  Go Lady Trojans!!
