The Chelan Goats opened its soccer season against the Eastmont Wildcats on Monday afternoon, March 23, and did very well against last year's 4A League Champions, but lost the match 3-2.
Chelan came out and kept the ball on Eastmont's end of the field for most of the first half, attempting a number of shots on goal. Most of these shots were right on the mark, but high. In the second minute of the game, Julio Juarez scored Chelan's first goal off of a nice assist from Sam Torres.

Sam Torres scored Chelan's second goal in the final stages of the match with an assist from Tucker Cool.
Chelan showed excellent ball control and the ability to pass the ball for a clean look at the goal. As the season progresses, Chelan should do very well in league play this year.
Chelan jumps right back into action, taking on the Omak Pioneers on Tuesday, March 24, at the Chelan Falls soccer field. Kickoff begins at 4 p.m. with JV action following.
