Chelan’s Lady Goats overran the Cascade Kodiaks on Friday night, February 12 to retain their second place standing in the CTL. The 55-30 win also gave them home court advantage this coming Tuesday evening, February 17, against Omak in a loser out game. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
It was a hallmark game for junior Emma Stockholm who ended up with a 33 career high effort, 26 of those points coming in the first half. Drew Morris added a solid 13 points behind Stockholm who said her teammates were feeding her the ball all night long.
Also scoring during the contest was Katie Gleasman with 5 and Madi Harrison with 4 points.
Chelan was getting great looks and the score at the end of the first quarter of play showed it when they had already forged a nine point lead, 19-10. At the end of the half, the Lady Goats went to the locker room with a 20 point lead, 34-12.
In the second half, Cascade had no answer to Chelan’s hot shooting and Chelan put them away with a solid victory to carry them into post season play.
If they continue to peak during post season, their only chance to make it to the State tournament will be to defeat Cashmere who currently has a 9-0 record on the season.
