Lady Goats struggling with ball control… drop two-win one
by Richard Uhlhorn
The Lady Goats enter into this week’s game against the Omak Pioneers in third place in the Caribou Trail League with league record of 2-2, one game off second place.
The girls traveled to Leavenworth on Tuesday, January 20 to play the Kodiaks and came home with a 60-39 loss.
The young team is struggling with ball control under the basket and turning the ball over to the opposing team. Against Cashmere on Friday, January 16, the Lady Bulldogs had pushed out to a 35-9 lead over the Goats by the end of the first half. That’s a large deficit to overcome, but giving the Goats a lot of credit, they got back to within 16 points by the end of the game.
Against a strong Brewster club, the Lady Goats pulled away with a 47-31 win in this non-league game.
On Friday, January 23, they meet the Omak Pioneers in league action. The Pioneers are 1-3 currently and the Lady Goats beat Omak 43-39 in their first game this season.
