Manson Boys Non-League Soccer 2014  

3/18/14 - Bridgeport 5 – Manson 0

Coach Thomas’ Game Report:

Tuesday, March 18th Manson Boys traveled to Bridgeport to play a non-league game. Bridgeport won 5 – 0. Manson played well for stretches and had several scoring chances but they were unable to put the ball in the net. Bridgeport scored two goals in the first half, both on breakaways. Manson goalkeeper Luis Alvarez made several key saves to keep the score close. Manson continued to press during the middle of the second half but defensive mistakes allowed Bridgeport to score 3 late goals. Luis Alvarez had 10 saves in the game and was replaced by Adrian Luna with ten minutes left in the game when Luis collided with a Bridgeport player. Miguel Leyva had a good game in the midfield for Manson and had several scoring chances.

Manson plays next on Thursday March 20th, at Omak in another preseason game.


 

Manson Boys Soccer Non-League 2014

Coach Tomas’ Game Report:  Brewster 4 – Manson 0

Saturday Manson Boys began their 2014 soccer season at home against Brewster in a non-league game. Brewster won 4 – 1. Manson played with just two returning players from last year’s 1A state quarterfinals team, defensive captain, Enrique Hernandez and Midfielder, Miguel Leyva.

Manson made a few mistakes and gave up an early goal to Brewster at the 8 minute mark. Manson had several chances to score as freshman Aurelio had a breakaway but just shot wide. Manson fell behind 4 – 0 before Michael Vasquez shot in a rebound after Aurelio’s shot went off the crossbar. Luis Alvarez had 4 saves in the first half and Adrian Luna had 3 saves in the second half.
