State Track meet

Haley Holiday not only broke the school record at the WIAA State Track and
Field Championships last Saturday, but she also took fourth place in the high
jump with a 56 leap. First, second and third places also went to girls high
jumping 56. Prior to state, Haley had
cleared 5 and was pushing towards breaking Coco Poirers 52 school record. Congratulations
on a fine track season for this young and talented freshman.
Karle Pittsinger ended her high school track career with two second place
finishes; one in the shot put with a throw of 4211 just short of the winning
throw by Morgan Van Koster who had an impressive 452 throw. Karley placed
second in the discus with a 131 throw. Karle will continue her track efforts
as a Husky next year when she enters the University of Washington.
Jose Padilla set a new school record in the discus with a throw of 155 which
was good enough for second place at the State Tournament. He also took second
in the shot put with a throw of 539.75 which was three feet shy of the
winning throw. Expect to see Padilla continue to challenge school records and
state records in the future.
Schwartz had a 12th place finish in the discus with a throw of 12004
but fouled out of the shot put competition.
Hawkins finished 15th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.19
seconds and Freshman Sterling Gordon had a great showing in the javelin with a
15210 throw for 10th place overall. Sophomore Bryan Cadena place 3rd
in the pole vault with a 129 vault.
