Chelan soccer team takes fourth place at

losing to Quincy on their home field in a shootout and then winning a game
against them in Chelan, the Chelan Soccer Team had to face the Jackrabbits in
the semi-final game at Chevy Stadium in Sumner.
Goats came up short against the Jackrabbits in the semi-final game and then
faced Kings High School for third and
fourth place in the tournament. “Both teams battled hard and had plentyu of
opportunities to goal,” wrote Assistant Coach Jim Broome. “Unfortunately, the
Goats could not find the back of the net and lost to Kings 3-0 and placed
fourth in State.
In the final
game, Chelan had 23 shots on goal to Kings 29 shots. Miguel Sanchez made 11
saves in goal for Chelan in that final game.
Quincy game, the Jackrabbits scored first in the 15th minute of the
first half. Juan Garcia tied the game off a corner kick from Cristian Barajas
in the 34th minute. Quincy scored in the 59th minute of
the second half to take the lead for good.
Chelan had many opportunities to
find the back of the net and take control of the game, but was unable to.
Miguel Sanchez was in goal for Chelan and had 8 saves. Chelan had 14
shots on goal to Quincy’s 21 shots on goal.
Quincy went on to defeat University
Prep for the State Championship.
