Manson home vs. Lake Roosevelt DH

Game #1: Final Score:  LR 19  Manson 2

Game #2: Final Score:  LR 14  Manson 1

Head Coach: Bill Thompson

Assistant Coach: Graham Monteleone

Athletic Director: Ken Nelson

Coach Thompson reports:

The Manson baseball team has been working hard on pickoffs, base running and hitting curveballs, but emphasis has also been on improving our diamond and creating some pride in our field.  We repainted our backstop Trojan Blue on April 6th, added a painted wooden backstop directly behind home plate and added new red dirt to our infield, mound and home plate.  “This is the best our field has ever looked” said Trojan assistant baseball coach Graham Monteleone.

A very special thank you goes out to Brett LaMar and Lake Chelan Building Supply, Gerry Ustanik, Wy Peterson and the Manson Parks Department, Kevin Cameron, and Troy Brooks who all have been incredibly helpful in getting our field to look so good!

Game Highlights:

Senior Travis Pittman was the starting pitcher for the Trojans and had a great first inning only giving up one run and recording a great strike out to end the inning.  The Trojans came back in the bottom of the inning and scored two runs when sophomore Mike Sanchez hit a line drive double into right center field scoring freshman James Calhoun who had a nice hit to get on base and senior Kent Ustanik who had walked.  8th grader Bo Charlton had the only other Trojan hit and he added a stolen base as well.  The Lake Roosevelt pitcher was outstanding and recorded 9 strikeouts.

The second game was all Lake Roosevelt and another outstanding pitcher recorded 8 strikeouts for the visitors.  The Trojans sent freshman Chris McFadden to the hill and the Lake Roosevelt team had overpowering offense scoring 14 runs.  The only Trojan hit came from James Calhoun who scored the only Trojan run and added two stolen bases.

Our next game is a home game and a continuation of a game called due to darkness vs. Oroville immediately followed by a regularly scheduled single game on April 16 at 3:30, followed by a double header at Liberty Bell on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
