Chelan Track & Field produces a new State Champion

By Richard Uhlhorn with information from Coach Skip Boyd

It’s been a number of years since Chelan has had a State Champion in Track and Field events, but this year proved to be the year for Karle Pittsinger to add her name to the State Track and Field champions. The last time was in 2005, according to Coach Skip Boyd. That was the 4X400 meter Relay team of Mike Dols, Danny Sherer, Eric Romero and Jason Sallas.

Karle, who competes in the shot put, discus and javelin, was able to win her State Championship bid in the shot put with a powerful throw of 42’ 1.25” which was not only a personal best for her, it was a new Chelan High School record.
Karle also placed second in the discus with a throw of 126’ 6”.
The 4X200 relay team of Bridget Wyant, Drew Morris,Daisy Campos and Morgan Hawkins placed 13th with a time of 1:59.96
On the boys side of the event, Asa Schwartz placed 13th in the Discus with a throw of 120’8” and Manny Munoz was 10th in the high jump, leaping 5’10”.
The 4X400 meter Relay team of Ty Miller, Konnar Stevens, Erick Oscarson and Mykey Flowers placed 16th with a time of 3:38.05.
Congratulations go out to the entire team in Track and Field this year.
