Lady Goats 2-1 in league play

Take on Cashmere there on April 9

Chelan’s Lady Goats shutout the Tonasket Lady Tigers in a double header last Saturday, March 30, winning the opener 13-0 and the nightcap 13-0.

 

“We started freshman Amanda Reeves in the circle and the defense did their job beautifully all day with only two errors total for both games,” reported Coach Jeff Barker. “Amanda was outstanding, throwing strikes and staying ahead of the batters.” Reeves only gave up two hits with no walks and six strikeouts. In the nightcap, Reeves gave up three hits, one walk and struck out five. “It was a great start for a freshman.”

 

Offensively the team had 25 total hits on the day with the girls hitting up and down in the line-up. Some of the team’s top hitters were Alma Franco scoring four runs on 4 for 7 hitting; Mary Fitzpatrick who was 3 for 7; Hailey Habich who was 4 for 5 with a double and a triple on the day. Mariela Galvan was 4 for 5, scoring four runs and Kara Kronbauer went 4 for 6 with three RBIs.

 

“Our girls have worked hard and are getting better every game they play,” said Barker

 

Cashmere is next on Tuesday, April 9th  in Cashmere .

 

Chelan is now 2 - 1 in league with its only loss coming from powerhouse Cascade and 4 - 2 overall.
