2013 Chelan Track & Field
Karle Pittsinger was a reluctant field star last year, but has learned to enjoy throwing the discus and shot put. At the Chelan Track Meet on March 19, she broke the school record in both events.
Pittsinger breaks school record in discus and shot put

On March 19, Chelan hosted its first Track and Field event in a number of years with Quincy, Omak and Brewster joining in the meet. It was a great start for the season, said Coach Skip Boyd.
The highlight of the meet was Karle Pittsinger breaking the Chelan High School Record in both the Shot Put and Discus. She threw the shot 394.5 and the discus 1206, both first place efforts at this meet.
Asa Schwartz had personal bests in the shot and discus with a throw of 433.5 in the shot and 13911 in the discus, both first place finishes.
Other first place finishers included Erick Oscarson in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.13 seconds. Chelans 4X100 meter relay team consisting of Bryan Cadena, Lane Molina, Ty Schwartz and Julian Buyas took home a first place finish. In the 4X400 meter relay it was Ty Miller, Asa Schwartz, Julian Buyas and Mykey Flowrs taking home first place.
Manny Munoz placed first in the high jump with a leap of 56.
Other male athletes turning in some great performances at this meet included Erick Oscarson with a second place finish in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.81 seconds. Jose Padilla was only 3 behind Asa Schwartz in the shot put with a throw of 40 for a third place finish.
Bryan Cadena placed fourth in the Pole Vault at 10 and just barely missed the 11 foot mark. Tom Armstrong placed third in the Triple Jump with a leap of 305.5.
On the girls side Morgan Hawkins placed first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.84 followed by teammates Bridget Wyant in fourth and Mackenzie Harris in seventh place. In the 200 meter run Mackenzie Harris placed 7th with a time of 31.40 seconds. In the 400 meter run Daisy Campos placed a solid second with a time of 1:08.38. In the 800 meter run, Maribel Negrete was fourth with a run of 2:54.38.
In the 1600 meter run, Jessica Galvan had a solid performance to place fourth in 6:45.05, just 10 seconds off first place. Janette Meneses was sixth. In the 100 meter hurdles, Drew Morris placed fourth with Haley Holiday right behind her in fifth place. Haley took third in the 300 meter hurdles.
In the 4X100 meter relay, Chelans team of Bridget Wyatt, Drew Morris, Daisy Franco and Rachael Hawkins came in 3rd. The 4X200 team of Morgan Hawkins, Bridget Wyant, Daisy Campos and Daisy Franco came in second. The 4X400 team of Morgan Hawkins, Amber Santos, Daisy Campos and Drew Morris placed a solid first place.
