3/27 Track E. Wenatchee
Manson Track & Field East Wenatchee Meet
The Manson track and field team members traveled to East Wenatchee for their 3rd meet in 8 days on March 27th. The most notable thing about the meet was the weather, which was in the low 40s and raining, at times hard, for the whole meet. It made for trying conditions. I was proud of the kids as they made the best of the situation and stuck it out the whole meet.
Because of the weather, it was not real conducive to performing to one's best. We still managed to have several notable performances.
1. Bailey Steven competed for the first time this year and broke 12 seconds in the 100m. This is the first time we have had someone do that in the 3 years I have been coaching.
2. Casey Sorensen broke 44 feet in the shot put. This effort puts him in the top 5 throwers in the state.
3. Several athletes had either personal bests or season's best efforts. This list includes Eli Leyva in the 400m, Cheyanne McFadden in the 800 and 1600, Paul Toolson in the 100, Sam Thomas in the 1600m, Alex Vanderholm, Raechel Vanderholm, Kenzie Gallaher, Kelly McClellan, and Willy Picton in field events.
