Coach Toolson reports:

Our numbers were small, but our effort and results were excellent in our last meet before the district meet this Saturday.  With homecoming festivities not allowing some of our runners to compete, we took only 4 runners with us to Oroville to compete in the Oroville Invitational.  It was a 3 mile course over grass, asphalt, and even some stretches of sand.

The four boys who ran, Angel Garcia, Sam Thomas, Miguel Leyva, and Salvador Leyva, all ran personal bests.  Angel placed 6th overall and Sam placed 9th, both earning ribbons for their efforts.  More importantly was their improvements.  Angel has knocked more than a minute off his best time in the last 2 weeks.  Sam improved by over 30 seconds.  Miguel lowered his best time by almost a minute, and Salvador by close to 30 seconds as well.

Our final regular season meet is on Saturday in Yakima.  It is our district/regional meet.  The top 2 teams and top 10 individuals earn berths to state.  With continued improvement, the boys have an outside shot at qualifying.
