The Trojans hosted Liberty Bell in our last home game of the season and also Homecoming on Friday night.  The Mountain Lions came to play Friday night but our Trojan defense, led but Luis Vasquez and Javier Guillen, was all over the field and playing very aggressively.  There was definitely some hitting going on out there and our boys only allowed a total of 33 net yards to be gained by the Mountain Lions.

Our offense was consistent throughout most of the game behind the running of Jesus Lopez and Javier Guillen.  They combined for 148 yards on 27 carries and 2 TDís.  As long as they can hang on to the football they are fun to watch.  We only fumbled the ball one time in the game and it was late in the 3rd quarter, which is a huge improvement from last week.  Kent Ustanik also had a very efficient game at quarterback going 4/9 for 95 yards, with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.   He also rushed for an additional 32 yards.  Marcus Vanderholm caught 2 passes for 35 yards. Jesus Lopez caught an amazing pass off of two defenders, for a 60 yard TD, and Uriel Lopez had 1 reception for 13 yards.

Despite being penalized 11 times for 90 yards I was very satisfied with the way we played tonight.  A few of those calls were for over aggressive play and that is something that we have been working on all season, increasing our aggression.  After reviewing the film I will take responsibility for those calls. We are trying to increase the aggressiveness and at the same time maintain a high level of sportsmanship.  It is the dead ball penalties that we need to correct.  It is coming down to the time in the season where we canít afford to shoot ourselves in the foot with dead ball penalties.  We will continue to work those out.

The atmosphere was electric and the crowd was amazing.  I am so happy for these boys and proud that they were able to put on a good show for the fans that came to support them.  The Trojans would like to thank the entire community for their support.  We travel to Davenport for a non-league game this Friday, October 21 and finish our league play in Pateros the following week, October 28.
