Robinson receives Terry Ennis Scholarship
By Richard Uhlhorn
Matt Robinson is the 2011 recipient of the $3,000 Terry Ennis Scholarship which was presented to him at the 32nd Annual “Hall of Fame Dinner in Bellevue, Washington.
This scholarship is offered by the Washington State Football Coaches Association, Adrenaline and H&L Sporting Goods in honor of Hall of Fame Coach Terry Ennis of Arch Bishop Murphy High School who passed away four years ago after a battle with cancer.
It is given to one outstanding senior football player who represents the finest qualities of integrity, academic excellence, intensity and leadership. “I thought Matt would be a good candidate for this scholarship,” said Coach Darren Talley. “He’s a three sport athlete… and a great athlete, so I thought he had a good shot at it.”
The scholarship is given out to only one athlete throughout the state each year, so this is a really nice honor for Robinson.
The night before the dinner, Coach Talley, his Assistant Coach, Nick Snyder and Chelan Middle School Coach Greg Griffiths were honored along with Head Coach Stephen Wallace of Quincy High School as “Coaches of the Year” in District VI.
Congratulations to all the Coach of the Year recipients and Matt Robinson.
