Isenhart and Schwartz to play in East/West All Star game this coming Saturday, June 23 in Yakima
There are thousands of high school athletes who play football, but there are only a few that are considered elite enough to be selected for the annual Earl Barden East/West 2A-A-B All-Star Game that will be played this coming Saturday, June 23 in Yakima.
Two Chelan seniors were amongst those selected to represent the community at this prestigious event.
Jerry Isenhart Jr., a 6’1” 265 pound offensive tackle who was named the “Pancake Block King” in 2011 and earned 1st Team-All League Offensive Lineman honors as a senior, was originally the only player on the Chelan team selected.
Alternates for this game included Cole Schwartz, a 5’10” 195 pound offensive Right Back and defensive Linebacker was selected as the 1st Team All League Running Back in 2011 and was a Co MVP defensive player in the Caribou Trail League.
As a junior, Cole was honored with an honorable mention as an All-State Linebacker and was selected as a 1st Team-All League Running Back. Cole also has two state wrestling championship under his belt as well as capturing the championship wrestling title between the Best of the West from Washington, Oregon and California.

“We just got the news,” said Coach Darren Talley to Cole’s selection to the team as a player and not an alternate. “The two coaches on the All-Star team did what they needed to do to get him in the game.”
Talley remarked that he was surprised that Cole didn’t make the initial selection but was happy that Cole will get to play.
So is Jerry Jr. “I think Cole deserves it even more than me,” said Jerry Jr. “So it’s totally awesome to have him playing also.”
Isenhart isn’t sure whether he’ll be playing offense or defense, but hopes it will be as an offensive tackle. “I’m really excited and really happy to be able to play,” said Jerry Jr., who will be attending WSU this fall with the intent to get an elementary education degree.
The game will be played at East Valley High School this coming Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets for those who want to drive down and support these two outstanding athletes are $6.
Jerry Jr. said interested people can purchase a ticket from Jerry Sr. If you need or want a ticket, call Jerry Isenhart at 860-3641.
Other CTL players selected this year were Omak’s Dylan Green and Cashmere’s Kyle Weiler and Caleb Barnes. Alternates are Matt Peterson and Jose Aparicio of Chelan and Joey Michael of Cashmere.
