9/20/12 Chelan vs Okanogan
Chelan Girls Soccer traveled to Okanogan today to take on the Bulldogs. Chelan lost to Okanogan 6 to 0. We started off pretty slow and the more experienced Okanogan team took advantage of our slow start. Okanogan first scored in the 6th minute and again in the 9th minute. Okanogan scored their 3rd and 4th goals in the 30th and 32nd minutes of the game. In the second half, Okanogan came out ready to play and scored their final two goals in the 50th and 51st minutes. This was a big learning experience for our young team, playing against one of the best teams in the CTL. Our senior captains Alma Franco and Hailey Habich did everything they could to lead our team and keep their teammates encouraged and working hard even though the outcome did not go in our favor.
Depending on air quality, Chelanís next game is on Tuesday September 25th in Cashmere at 6pm.
The Chelan Girls soccer team traveled to Omak today to take on the Pioneers. Both teams played really tough for the full 80 minutes. The girls had plenty of opportunities to score, but again could not find the back of the net. In the end, Chelan lost to Omak 2 to 0. Omakís first goal came in the 4th minute. Their second goal came in the 60th.
Chelan freshman forward Bridget Wyant played a great game pressuring Omakís defense and almost got two goals. Freshman outside midfielders, Casey Jackson and Daisy Franco were doing an excellent job sending some beautiful crosses into the box, unfortunately we could not get one of our players on the other end of the crosses. Senior Captain Hailey Habich along with Junior Goalkeeper Ana Diaz played great games in the back. Ana Diaz had 11 saves in the 2nd half. Our young team continues to get better. These girls have continued to work hard.
Chelan Girls soccer traveled to Manson today, Wednesday September 5th, for a non-league match and their first game of the season. We played tough today and did somethingís really well and had some great opportunities to score, but could not find the back of the net. Manson won today 2 to 0 and got both of their goals in the first half. Their first goal came in the 10th minute and then they scored again in the 28th minute. We have a very young team and our nerves and inexperience showed in the first half of the game. As the game went on we started to get better opportunities to score. Senior Captains, Alma Franco, Hailey Habich and Sam Cooper did a great job leading this young group of girls. Freshman Daisy Franco also had a great game and Anna Diaz was in goal for Chelan.
