Tonasket falls to Chelan Tennis

For once it was a nice day to play some tennis. Chelan took on Tonasket in a league match at Lake Chelan Shores and soundly beat them. The Goats only suffered one loss throughout the afternoon and Coach Marty Rothlisberger was very happy. “We are having a good day today,” said halfway through the match.

His number 1 singles player, Matt Robinson defeated Anthony Verhasselt in a long, grinding match. Verhasselt placed 8th in state in boys singles last year. Robinson won the match 6-4, 6-1.

On the girls doubles side, Livi Plew and Clancy Courtney defeated Megan Beyers and Cayla Monroe 6-4, 7-5. “Beyers finished 2nd in state singles last year,” said Rothlisberger. “So this was a quality win for Live and Clancy.”
