Chelan fastpitch extends league record to 5-1

The Chelan softball team is trailing Cascade by one game in league standings. Chelan will host the Cascade Kodiaks this coming Saturday, April 21 for a double header that should decide who in the Caribou Trail League is top guns.

Coach Jeff Barker has the talent on his young team to upset the Kodiaks. Danielle Smythe is pitching well and power hitters like Courtney Dietrich and Hailey Habich put opposing teams on defensive alert.

If you are interested in some fast ball, this is the double-header to come out and watch this weekend.

On April 14, the Lady Goats played Nooksack Valley, losing 11-1 in non-league action. Jordan Holden and Amanda Stewart were both 2-3 at the plate and Hailey Habich was 1-3 with a double and a run scored.

On April 12, the Lady Goats lost a league match-up with the Cashmere Bulldogs 5-3. The Goats got on the board first, but the bats went south for the next five innings. Chelan tried to come back in the seventh inning, scoring 2, but it was short of the win.

Hailey Habich was 3-4 in this game with a double and Courtney Smith was 1-3 with a RBI.
