Cristian Krumbauh and Sam Cooper were the only two Chelan golfers that battled through rough weather and made it in to todayís (May 23) final round of golf at the State Golf Championships.

Weather hampers State Golf Championships

Golfers battling for a state championship ended up battling wind and rain also at the WIAA State Golf Championships on Tuesday, May 22.
Chelanís Ian Cowell started off day one in the second group at 7:39 a.m. in dry weather, but the rains started at Hole #6 and it stayed wet for the rest of the day.
Cristian Krumbah was on the tee at 9:18 and ended up shooting an 80 which qualified him for the second day of competition.
Zach Burchett teed off at 11:45 and ended up struggling on the front 9, but came back and shot well on the back 9, finishing with a credible 90 despite the weather.
Sam Cooper teed off around 12:36 and also struggled on the front 9 but came in with a 102 which was just good enough to qualify her for the second day of this competition.
Lexi Burchett was scheduled at 12:54 and ended up shooting a 116 which ended her golf career for Chelan at the state tournament.
