Jaicee Harris signs "Letter of Intent " to attend Washington State University (WSU) in the Fall 2011.

Jaicee Harris signs "Letter of Intent" to attend school and play volleyball for Washington State University (WSU) next Fall.

Last Wednesday evening Joe and Alice Harris held a small gathering of family and friends to celebrate the decision of their daughter, Jaicee Harris's plan to attend WSU in the Fall of 2010.

Her decision was capped off by her signing of a "Letter of Intent" to accept a full ride athletic scholarship to play volleyball for the University.

Jaicee, like her brother Joe, has been a standup athlete for Chelan High School since her freshmen year.  As she played volleyball, basketball and participated in track, she was an early leader in all of the sports.

However she grew to love volleyball.
She became so fond of volleyball that she joined a "Club Team" and traveled to the Tri-Cities several nights a week to practice with her club team while participating with her school sports.  She would often travel the country on weekends to play in various large club tournaments.  It was there that schools like WSU, Boston College and others.

Early on Jaicee had actually made a verbal commitment to Boston College but WSU was truly where she wanted to go.  And when WSU contacted her with the offer of a full ride scholarship, she quickly withdrew her verbal agreement with BC and signed the WSU Letter of Intent.

Oh behalf of GoLakeChelan and its staff of reporters, we wish Jaicee Harris the very best in her college career.
