GoLakeChelan's video camera caught up to Coach McGuffin this week to talk about the State Wrestling Championships at the Tacoma Dome. When asked,"how did it go", a big wide smile came acrossed his face and he said," and he said it could not have been scripted any better." He shared that the team had set a goal of finishing in the top 4 teams. And of course when they took Second Place as a team, his was elated as were his wrestlers. The team had 7 individual placers. He has had 6 placers in the past and faired well. But when that we got the 7th placer, I felt like it would be possible to be in the top 4. He did not have Second Place anywhere in his thoughts. "What a thrill for all of the kids," said McGuffin. And to have Cole finish with his second consecutive State Championship. That was special for the coach and the other wrestlers. We also talked with some of the wrestlers who finished well, including Cole Schwartz.
