Riverside Christian is very good. They hit the ball well. They don't
make errors. They throw strikes, but I will take our guys on my team
any day. Our guys showed great sportsmanship, class, pride, character,
exceptional teammwork and improvement. I am extremely proud of every
one of the guys that have made these two long trips to Warden and
Yakima on consecutive nights. I can't say enough about the poise our
pitchers (Cameron Peters, Nathan Coggins and Bailey Stevens) showed
tonight. Stellen Giffin showed continued improvement behind the plate.
Bailey Stevens hit the ball hard three times. Peters scored a run and
stole a base. Coggins had a season high two hits. Curtis McClellen had
his best career defensive game. Giffin also hit a single. Johnny Jones
hustled down the line to reach base on an error. Travis Pittman saved
a run with a great catch on an overthrow at first base. Jordan Pittman
made a couple catches as he stretched; which is something he has been
working on a lot. Blake Callison hit the ball very hard to short and
made a nice play at second. Luis Vazquez hit the ball hard twice and
reached base for the first time in his career. Taylor Quigley hit a
single and scored our first run of the day. I was really happy we cut
down on the strikeouts today with a season
Low of three, the guys were being more aggressive at the plate just
like we had hoped they would.
