Manson Track at Easton Invitational at Snohomish HSl
Coach Toolson reports:
Manson track team participated in the Easton Invitational at Snohomish High School on Saturday, April 16. It was the first time Manson had participated in this meet. It is one of the largest high school track meets in the state. There were over 60 teams and 1300 athletes who participated.
The weather was horrific for a track meet (low 40s, rain, and gusty winds). It was a challenge to get warmed up properly and perform to one's best. Despite the adversity, the kids competed hard.
Some of the highlights:
The boy's ran a distance medley relay for the first time. Marcus Vanderholm led off with a 1200, Ty Harding followed with a 400, then Paul Toolson ran an 800, and Jesse Russell anchored with a 1600.
The girls 4x100 relay team consisting of Stephanie Quiroz, Ofelia Rodriguez, Adriana Guzman, and Itzel Castro ran a season's best time.
Alex Vanderholm threw back to back personal bests in the discus.
Marcus Vanderholm ran a season's best in the 1600.
Jesse Russell ran a pr in the 300m hurdles.
Itzel Castro also got a pr in the 400m.
Also participating in the meet were Bianca Vergara and Casey Sorensen.
