Even though we didn't win, this trip to Wenatchee to play in the TownToyotaCenter was an awesome experience for the entire team of players, managers and coaches. The girls got the opportunity to play on a bigger stage in front of more people than most of them have experienced. It was great to see so many parents, teachers and Manson alumni supporting both the girls and boys. Getting beat was one of the last things we were worried about. We knew exactly what we were going up against Tuesday. We were mostly hoping to have fun, get better and ultimately have a positive experience; I believe we accomplished all of our top goals for the day. This particular ACH team is the best team we have played against during the past three years, they are just an amazing team; which is why we wanted to play them and prepare ourselves for an extremely tough league schedule starting the first week of January. Our girls came ready to play as we jumped out to a 5-0 lead with Hailey Ellsworth hitting a long two followed by a longer three. Unfortunately, we were only able to score one more point during the first quarter as ACH rolled to an 18-6 lead at the end of the first. At halftime we trailed 39-10 and the girls easily could have folded the tent, but as they always do, they showed a lot of pride and really battled and hustled in the second half. We also had our best free throw percentage shooting night of the season with Ellsworth making two, Sanchez making 1 and Bridgewater making 1. I was really proud of the girls and their efforts throughout this game. We got quality minutes from ten players tonight including some great minutes from senior Emily Huang in her first varsity game ever. We return to action Tuesday at 3 pm in the Waterville Christmas tournament against Bridgeport and on Wednesday against WilsonCreek also at 3 pm. We Hope to once again see a lot fans up there for burgers and basketball.
