Chelan knocks down Cashmere in three games

Info supplied by Coach Donene Hendricks

Editors note: Cascade comes to town this Tuesday evening to try once again to beat the Lady Goats. Word has it that Cascade’s JV and Varsity were at the Cashmere game in force and video taping the Lady Goats. They are serious about besting Chelan on the Volleyball Court, so come out and cheer on our defending State Champions this Tuesday night in their first league match of the year.

Coach Hendricks reports:

Last night (Thursday, Sept. 8) we traveled to Cashmere for a non-league contest for our J.V. and varsity teams.  Both Chelan teams won.  Scores of the varsity were 25-15, 25-21, 25-18.

Olivia Plew led in kills with 11.  She also had 15 assists and went 9/9 serving with 1 ace.

Darcy Austin had 10 kills, 6 digs and went 11/12 serving. Courtney Dietrich had 9 kills, 3 blocks and was 9/9 serving with 2 aces, Maghara DePaoli had 13 digs, was 14/14 serving with 2 aces and was 13/13 on serve receive, Abby Phelps led in assists with 20 , had 5 kills and served 15/16 with 1 ace, and McKenna Hawkins was 9/9 serving, had 5 digs and was 5/5 on serve receive

“I thought we had a great night from all of our hitters contributing for kills, as well as having solid defense and passing from McKenna Hawkins and Maghara DePaoli.”

“Olivia Plew and Abby Phelps continue to do a wonderful job of mixing up the sets to keep our offense very balanced. This puts our record at 2-0. Next Tuesday we will host the Cascade

Kodiaks for our first league match.

J.V.  will start at 5:00 with the varsity following at 6:30 . That evening our C-squad will travel to Liberty Bell for a non-league match.
