Lady Goats lose a tough softball game
against undefeated Cascade Kodiaks

Chelan hosted the undefeated Cascade Kodiaks (12-0 in league) on Tuesday, May 3, and gave the Kodiaks a good scare. The game ended with the Kodiaks squeaking out a 7-6 win over the young Goat team.
Cascade scored one run in the top of the first inning. Chelan answered with two runs in the bottom of the first and both teams held each other off in the second inning.
Cascade got their bats going against Chelan in the third, scoring 4 runs to Chelanís additional 2 runs in the bottom of the third, leaving Chelan behind 5-3. Both teams came up scoreless in the fourth, but Cascade added another two runs in the fifth to further pull away from Chelan who could only answer with one run in the fifth.
With the score 7-5, Chelan was able to score one more run in the seventh inning but couldnít bring home the tying run and the game went to Cascade.
Dani Smythe pitched all seven innings for Chelan giving up 10 hits and 2 earned runs. She had 6 strikeouts and only gave up 2 walks.
Offensively Smythe was 3-4 with 3 RBIs and 1 run scored. Hailey Habich was 2-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Lyndsey Fox was also 2-4 with 3 stolen bases and 2 runs scored.
Chelan hosts Omak for a double header on Friday night, May 6. It is senior night and Coach Jeff Barker would love to see a lot of fans out for this final home game of the regular season.
