All-League voting is complete – Chelan athletes rank high

Spring has been a busy sports season for Chelan High School athletes and today, May 25, Chelan High School released the names of those athletes gaining recognition for their specific sport. Following are the results:


Soccer – Chelan ended up its regular soccer season as the Caribou Trail League Champions, but lost out in the first game of the playoffs in double overtime to a strong Warden team.


1st Team – All League Honors in Soccer go to:

                Goalie – Ruben Medina (junior)

                Defenders –          JJ Ramirez (senior)

                                                Paco Sanchez (senior)

Midfielders –        Eleazar Galvan (sophomore)

Forwards -             Guada Cardenas (junior)

2nd Team                                               

Defender -             Julio Vera (freshman)

                Midfielders –        Eleazar Galvan (sophomore)

Golf – Chelan golfer Sam Cooper was voted ‘Player of the Year’ in the CTL. Congratulations for a great season.

Baseball – The Chelan Goat Baseball team ended its season when Chewalah beat them 4-1 in Bi-District play. “We had an error at a critical time in the game,” said Coach Jim Burbery. The team ended up with a 6-6 league record and a 10-11 overall record. “Overall I was pretty happy. They came a long ways from our opening day.”

Softball – The Lady Goats enter State competition this coming weekend in Spokane after an incredible season that ended with the Goats defeating undefeated Cascade in Bi-District Play.

Track – The Chelan Track team had a good season this spring. The boys had a tough time at the State Qualifier but the girls came through in several events and will be traveling to Eastern Washington University this weekend to compete in relay and field events.
