Soccer team defeats Tonasket 8-0

Chelan’s soccer team got off to a quick scoring start against the Tonasket Tigers on Tuesday, April 19, with Isaac Perez scoring the team’s first goal in the second minute off an assist from junior Raven Berman. Berman assisted Perez again in the eighth minute to score again.
Chelan kept up a relentless attack on the Tiger’s defense and continue to score almost at will with Alejandro Angulo scoring the third goal off an assist by Eleazar Galvan in the 13th minute of this game. Then it was Galvan nailing a goal in the 18th minute and Captain JJ Ramirez putting in the fifth goal off an assist by Ray Galvan in the 28th minute.
In the second half Angulo scored his second goal with Galvan getting his second goal only three minutes later with an assist off Guada Cardenas. In the 75th minute of this game, freshman Ivan Magdaleno scored with Ray Galvan getting the assist.
Goalkeeper Ruben Medina played another great game and recorded another shutout. “The entire team played a very composed game and passed the ball extremely well,” commented Coach Broome. “All the players played an important role in this win.”
“We would like to commend the Tonasket team for playing hard throughout the game and never giving up.”
Chelan will play arch rival Manson on Thursday, April 21 in Manson. Manson will be looking for revenge after losing its first game to Chelan.
