Chelan Goats roll over Vashon Island 57-44

Face Zilla in semis at 9 p.m. Friday

The Chelan Goats had no problem defeating Vashon Island in their opening game at the Sun Dome in Yakima on Thursday night. The Goats held Vashon to 12 points in the first half and enjoyed a comfortable lead going into the third quarter.

 

Aaron McQuaid had 20 points to lead the Goats to the 57-44 victory and Michael Amsel Jr. added another 15. McQuaid was 3 for 5 from behind the three point line and pulled down 12 rebounds. He also had 3 steals on the evening. Amsel dished out 4 assists and stole the ball 2 times. Matt Robinson added 7 points and Tyler James added 8 with 4 rebounds. Evan Reister had a good game pulling down 7 rebounds and putting in 4 points.

 

Chelan forced Vashon to turn the ball over 18 times.

 

The Goats face Zilla on Friday night with tip-off at 9 p.m.
