Sarah Waszkewitz had 4 points in the game against Cascade and with each game is becoming more and more aggressive on the offensive end of the court which will definitely help the team down the stretch towards District.
Lady Goats roll over Cascade in 2nd, 3rd & 4th
by Richard Uhlhorn
It took a full first quarter for the Lady Goats to adjust to the Cascade Kodiaks press before finally getting their offensive game going. "They played a great game," said Assistant Coach Tracy Williams. "When you have every player but one scoring in the game, you have played very well.'
The Lady Kodiaks kept Chelan at bay during the first quarter of play, 8-6, but by the middle of quarter two, Chelan was up 16-10 and rolling. By the break, Chelan had outscored Cascade 18-7 and went into the break leading 24-15.
Cascade didn't fair any better in the third and fourth quarters either with Chelan at .600 or a total offensive percentage of .476 from the field to defeat the Lady Kodiaks 53-35.
Leading the scoring was Jaicee Harris had 17 points and 11 rebounds. While no one else broke into double figures, Cari Willams had a nice game, adding 9 points to the total. She has become deadly with her long shot. Kelli Bowers and Houston Robison both had 6 points.
The Lady Goats are currently ranked 7th in the AP weekly rankings behind Okanogan who is currently ranked 5th in the State 1A AP poll. The Okanogan Bulldogs are the only team to beat the Goats this year. The Lady Goats will address that loss on home court later this season.
The team travels to LakeRoosevelt on Saturday night, January 23.
