Chelan boys and girls place 2nd and 3rd in CTL track
District VI Championships in Cashmere on Friday at

The Chelan Track and Field team traveled to Tonasket last Friday, May 14, to compete in the Caribou Trail League Track & Field Championships. The boys finished in 2rd place overall and the girls finished in 3rd place overall.
All league honors were handed out to those finishing in the top three places at this meet. This Friday, May 21, beginning at , the District VI meet will take place in Cashmere. The top two athletes or relay teams in each event will move on to the State Championships in Cheney, May 27.
In the boys events, first place finishes came from Hank Burton in the pole vault 11’ 06” , Michael Amsel Jr. in the long jump 21’ and the 4x100m relay of Matt Peterson, Amsel Jr., Robin Weathersby and Aaron McQuad with a time of 44.55.
Taking 2nd place in their events were Matt Peterson in the 100m dash and the 4x400m relay with Peterson, Weathersby, Amsel Jr. and Cole Schwartz.
Third place finishes and all league honorable mentions went to Aaron McQuaid in the 100m, Matt Pittsinger in the Javelin, 141’06”, and Alex Cortez in the discus 111’05”.
In the girls events a first place All-League Title went to Gabriela Guillen in the 800 meter run, Sarah Waszkewitz in the Javelin with a throw of 118’03” and both the 4X100 and 4X200 meter relay teams of Cody and Madi Knaub, Jaicee Harris and Darcy Austin.
Second place awards went to Darcy Austin in the 100m dash and in the javelin with a throw of 115’08”. Mari Schramm took second place honors in the 800 meter run and Madi Knaub in the 200 m dash.
