Houston Robison hasn't had much attention this year, but she is definitely a major reason Chelan has been successful. Her toughness under the basket always makes good things happen for the Lady Goats. Against Vashon Island, Houston had 4 rebounds, 4points, 1 block and 1 steal to help the Goats recapture their game at the State Basketball Championships. (Photo by Linda Jo Williams)

After beating Vashon Island 49-33 on Thursday morning, and realizing they may have to beat Cascade again, Coach Tom Robinson, in an interview with Dave Spanjer said, "Bring it on. We have a score to settle with them."
The Lady Goats had a totally different look to their game on Thursday, March 5. "It was a great defensive effort," said Spanjer after the game. They advance to the Consolation Round and will play Cascade for the fifth time this year at on Friday, March 6.
"We're having a good time in Yakima," said Robinson. "We're not ready to go home yet." He told Spanjer that the girls put forth an outstanding effort from the beginning of their game against Vashon. "We never did get challenged," he said. "Yesterday, I think they were intimidated by size. They were different today. They didn't let size get to them."
It was obviously a great defensive effort on Chelan's part Thursday. They pulled down a total of 38 rebounds; 25 of them on the defensive end of the court. Add 10 steals and balanced scoring throughout the team, and Chelan came up with a winning solution.
Jaicee Harris pulled down 15 rebounds and scored nine points. Kelli Bowers and Sydney Austin had 13 and 10 points respectively. Darby Jenkins had seven rebounds and Houston had four points and four rebounds to help the Goats to the win.
The win put Chelan into the Consolation Round against their old CTL rival, the Cascade Kodiaks. Coach Robinson feels good about that match-up. As he said, "Bring them on. We have a score to settle."
