Setter Kelli Bowers had 25 assists against the LakeRoosevelt Raiders and served 14/14 w/3 aces to help lift the Lady Goats to a 13-1 league record for the season. In Brewster, Houston Robison came up big with 11 kills and six blocks in the middle to help lift Chelan over the Bears.
Lady Goats ready for District playoffs Saturday

“This was a good match for us,” said Coach Donene Hendricks following Chelan’s win over LakeRoosevelt 25-8, 25-15, 25-8. “It certainly helped us get into a flow. The kids will be ready this coming Saturday.”
The Raiders were unable to stop or even really play with Chelan, so the final league match-up was more of a practice game for the upcoming District match against Okanogan or Brewster on Saturday, November 1, beginning at in Okanogan.
Brewster and Okanogan were both tied for third place in league several weeks ago. Since that time Brewster took Chelan to the brink in a five-game match which could mean that teams within the league are beginning to peak at District playoff time.
In Brewster on Thursday, October 23, the Chelan Lady Goats found themselves in another barnburner, finally defeating them for the win 25-19, 20-25, 25-16, 22-25, 16-14. “Brewster played a great match offensively and defensively and it took all we had to get the win,” reported Hendricks. “It would have been real easy for our girls to quit fighting as we strugged to get control of the momentum for any period of time.” The Goats managed to make some big plays when the desperately needed them and managed to get the job down.
If Chelan defeats their opponent, it is likely that they will meet up with Cascade again at some point during the playoffs for the District Championship.
