Jose Garcia had a great game against the Cashmere Bulldogs on Tuesday, April 7, scoring three of Chelan's six goals to help lead the Goats to the League win.
Chelan soccer beats Cashmere 6-4 in CTL action by Richard Uhlhorn
Under sunny skies and warm weather, the Chelan Goat Soccer Team took on the venerable Cashmere Bulldogs and walked away with a 6-4 victory.
Cashmere scored first just four minutes into this game but Chelan got its first goal on a Sam Torres kick that came just 15 minutes into this game. Jose Garcia scored scored the second goal for Chelan in the 21st minute of the game followed by Julio Juarez just one short minute later. Cashmere got its second goal in the 26th minute.
The second half had Sam Torres scoring again in the 43rd minute. Garcia scored two more goals in the second half and Cashmere continued to play a tough match with two more goals of its own in the later stages of the match.
"It was a tough and exciting game," said assistant coach Jim Broome. "Chelan just couldn't get rid of Cashmere. They just kept fighting and never gave up. Both teams played really well."
