Last year, the Chelan soccer team had a great time playing the game of soccer despite not being very successful in the win column. This year, one of the goals of the Lady Goats team is to better the win/loss record from last year under their new coach Eric Peterson. (File Photo by Richard Uhlhorn).
Lady Goat soccer in a rebuilding year

After losing a number of seniors last year, the Lady Goat soccer program is in a building year. “We are off to a good start,” wrote Coach Eric Peterson. “This is a building year with only one returning senior.” Tori Wright returns in the forward position.
The team has a number of new players to the game of soccer and they are excited to be a part of the program. Chelan has 19 girls out for the season.
“There has been a tremendous improvement since the beginning of the season, and the team is on track to beat last season’s win/loss record,” said Peterson. Three of the team’s losses this year were by narrow margins and the team is becoming more competitive with each game played.
“Coach Peterson’s goal is to help the team build its fundamentals and to work on communication on the field. “The team has high spirits this season, and the players are having a lot of fun on the field.”
