Kelli Bowers led the Chelan Lady Goats with 13 points against the LaSalle Lighting team who used a full-court press to hold the Goats to only 53 points.
Lady Goats suffer a 77-53 loss to LaSalle

Before the Lady Goats took to the floor against the LaSalle Lighting, Coach Dane Lewman stated that LaSalle was not only a very good team, but would most likely be the 2B State Champions this year. “We’ll see if the girls show up,” said Lewman as his Lady Goats began the second game of the Lake Chelan Christmas Tournament Friday night.
The Lady Goats immediately ran into LaSalle’s “in-your-face” full-court press from the beginning tip-off.
In the first quarter of play, Chelan was able to keep this game close, but in the second quarter, LaSalle’s press began to pay off as the Goats had tremendous difficulty breaking the press and clearing the ball down court. By the end of the half, the girls found themselves behind 44-25.
The third quarter of play had the Lady Goats outscoring LaSalle by two points, but LaSalle held Chelan to 11 points in the fourth while dumping in 19 of their own to walk away the with the 77-53 victory.
Chelan had three in double figures: Kelli Bowers with 13 and Sidney Austin and Darby Jenkins both had 10 points, followed by Kristin Milliette with seven points and seven rebounds on the night. Jenkins had eight rebounds.
LaSalle’s Jasmine Stohr had a game high 21 points.
The Lady Goats take the floor again today, Saturday, December 29, at in their final game of the tournament.
