Chelan wrestlers to take on Okanogan tonight

The Chelan Wrestling Team headed up by Coach Jay McGuffin and assisted by Randy McGuffin and Randy Gleasman remains undefeated in league at they enter the 2008 section of their season.
Tonight, Thursday, the team will host the Okanogan Bulldogs in league action in hopes of retaining that first place position in the Caribou Trail League.
Just prior to the schools Christmas break in December, Chelan traveled to Cashmere to take on the Bulldogs there. For the second year in a row, the Chelan Goats defeated Cashmere in team wrestling action. Cashmere is noted as having one of the toughest wrestling programs in the state.
At the Royal City Invitational, Chelan chalked up a 3rd place finish out of 17 teams competing.
Jesse Allen at 171 pounds took first place in a 5-0 decision over Rowdy Payne of Castle Rock. Sean Gervais at 215 pounds continues to win matches and he also came in first with a close 7-6 decision over T.J. Hunt of Royal City. Tyson McGuffin dropped down to 152 pounds and lost a close semi-final match in overtime and finished up in third place.
Helping put Chelan into third place were the following wrestlers:

119 lbs. Jose Lopez 5th place
125 lbs. Micah Hargrove 6th place
140 lbs. Gage Schmidt 2nd place
145 lbs. Tyler Allen 5th place
145 lbs. Steven Swinford 3rd place
152 lbs. Tyson McGuffin 3rd place
171 lbs. Jesse Allen 1st place
215 lbs. Sean Gervais 1st place
275 lbs. Doug Ramsey 4th place.
