The previous Friday, the Lady Goats competed in the Yakima Sun Dome Tournament against 24 other 1A teams from around the state. “We opened pool play with the Granger Spartans and defeated them 25-18, 25-9,” reported Hendricks. They went on to play Chewelah and won that match 25-19, 25-19 and then defeated Montesano 25-12, 25-16.

“Coming out of our pool as the number one team meant that we combined with the number one teams from the other five pools,” said Hendricks. Chelan received a first round bye because of the point differences scored against their first opponents. “The only other team to score more points against their opponents in pool play was Kings,” said Hendricks.

Chelan played Lakeside and lost a close match 23-25 and 21-25. This loss placed the team in the consolation match for third and fourth against Goldendale who the Goats beat 25-13, 25-18.

“I was very pleased with the way the girls played throughout the day.  It was a very competitive field of teams with some of the top 1A programs in the state.”
