Chelan boys weather snow flurries to beat Omak on tennis court – girls lose

by Richard Uhlhorn

The weather was a factor in all spring sports on Saturday, April 19. The Chelan Tennis Team hosted the Omak Pioneers in Chelan and fought snow flurries throughout their match.

Tim Flood remarked that he was all bundled up at the tennis courts and couldn’t believe the players were on the court in tennis gear, i.e. spring wear more applicable to warm weather, not snow flurries.

Chelan’s boys defeated Omak in every match, taking away the team win 5-0. Tyson McGuffin continued to stay undefeated this year in league play.

The girls had a hard time, losing all of their matches on Saturday 5-0.

The Goats host Cashmere on Tuesday, April 22 beginning at 4 p.m.
