“We did Ok for our first league game,” said Coach Dane Lewman after Chelan beat the Lady Pioneers on their home court 67-37. “We played a lot better than we did against Waterville and worked hard defensively,” he said.

Darby Jenkins came off the bench for Chelan and recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. “She just came in and started playing, and did not stop,” said Lewman.

Alisha Love had 12 points, four assists and five steals. “She just came to play,” said Lewman. Kelli Bowers added 10 points and four assists. “We passed the ball really well.”

Izzy Barth almost recorded a double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds on the evening.

This coming Tuesday evening, the Lady Goats will face the Brewster Bears on the Bears home court. “They are in for a battle,” said Lewman. “But they really like the competition and if they pressure hard, it will turn out to be a good game.”

GoLakeChelan’s Dennis Rahm will be on hand to announce the girls game in Brewster, so if you can’t make it up to the game, listen in.
