Kilee Lippincott has one more year of playing softball for the Chelan Lady Goats and was selected the 1st Team-All State this year.
Spring sports All-State selections out
By Richard Uhlhorn
Each year, the media has an opportunity to pick athletes who have been outstanding in their respective sports. The All-State Spring Sports Teams were announced this past week and the following Chelan players were selected:
Kilee Lippincott − 1st Team-All State Outfielder
Kilee was a junior at Chelan High School, playing center field for the Lady Goats fast pitch softball team. She was selected 1st Team-All League and now has the distinction of being selected for the all state team as a junior. Throughout the year, Kilee provided outstanding defense in center field and offensively, was a steady hitter at the plate.
Kim Harter − 2nd Team-All State Pitcher
If you didn’t have an opportunity to watch this senior pitch this year, you missed an incredible performance from the mound. Kim continually baffled even the best hitters in the region and state even though she struggled with tendonitis all season. In her four years as a Chelan fast pitch softballer, she struck out 676 hitters and was named Player of the Year three years running.
Anna Pickett – Honorable Mention Catcher
According to Coach Jeff Barker, Anna ended her high school career as one of the best pitchers in the state. The media agreed, giving her an honorable mention. Had they had an opportunity to watch Anna catch a game, they may have awarded her a first team slot because she is that good defensively and offensively.
Roy Figueroa – Honorable Mention Pitcher
Roy finished his high school career with a 2.6 ERA, striking out 56 hitters this year alone. He was an imposing force on the mound and batters would walk away after being struck out shaking their head. Roy wasn’t only a good starting pitcher, he was an outstanding third baseman and offensively, he ended his senior year hitting .737.
Chelan and Brewster each had four All-State Athlete which tied the two schools at the top in NCW 1A and B schools.
Congratulations to all of them.
