Chelan football coach, Darren Talley, reports to GoLakeChelan sports fans that Brett Linehan, No. 42, played an entire game as a wide receiver in the Earl Barden East-West All State Football Game on Saturday, June 21, in Yakima’s Zaepfel Stadium.
The East team defeated the West team by a score of 17-6. “Brett made one of the most beautiful catches of the day… a high leaping one hander that was called back because of an ineligible receiver down field,” said Talley.
Brett's father, Coach Kelly Linehan, was on hand with other family members and friends to cheer Brett on during the All State Football Game on Saturday, June 21.
Brett’s family, a number of friends and former football teammates were on hand to support him.
Brett will be attending Central Washington University in the fall and will try to extend his football playing career by walking on at the college.
Former football teammates Danny Zavala, Cody Olsen and Derrick Talley joined other family friends and students at the All State Football Game on June 21, to cheer Brett Linehan on. Brett was a wide receiver and played the entire game, making one spectacular one-handed catch.
