Chelan ended its regular league play with a 13-1 record (17-1 overall) and the CTL League Championship for the third straight year under the coaching of Jeff Barker.
Chelan traveled to Brewster for their final game and ended up with a 6-4 victory over the Lady Bears. “This was a tough game,” reported Barker. “Kim Harter pitched for us and battled all night long.”
Harter struggled with control, but was able to hang in there for the win. She allowed two earned runs on five hits, five walks and nine strikeouts. Anna Pickett called the game from behind the plate and according to Barker did another outstanding job.
Offensively, Taylor McClellan and Amanda Van Diest were the only two players who had a multi-hit game. Both went 2 for 4 at the plate. Kim Harter hit a two-run homerun and Amanda Inlanfeldt was 1 for 2 with a double.
The team travels to Colville on Saturday, May 3, to take on one of the best 2A teams in the state. “After that, we hope to get healthy for the upcoming playoffs,” said Coach Barker.
