Chelan decimates a young Lake Roosevelt softball team

The Lady Goats continued to pursue their third League Championship by beating the Lake Roosevelt Raiders on Senior Night 24-0 and 24-3. The girls face the Brewster Bears in Brewster on Tuesday, April 29, and if they can secure a win there, they will claim their third CTL championship.
Kim Harter started on the mound, but only pitched two innings into the first game before AnnAlise Nelson took over and finished the pitching chores for the team.
Harter gave up no runs, allowed only one hit with no walks and struck out six on Chelan’s way to the opening game victory. Nelson pitched the rest of the first game and a full game in the night cap for a total of eight innings.
Nelson gave up three runs with only one of them earned, on two hits, eight walks and 14 strikeouts. Anna Pickett was the starting catcher and Kaylee Robelia finished the catching chores.
Offensively in the doubleheader, Meisha Moro went 2 for 2; Taylor McClellan went 2 for 3 with two triples; JV player Elizabeth Garcia was 1 for 2 with a double; Kim Harter was 2 for 2 with a triple; Jamie Brunner went 5 for 5 with a homerun; and Anna Pickett was 4 for 6 with eight RBIs on a triple and a grand slam.
“We are now 16 & 1 and 12 & 1 in League play,” reports Jeff Barker.
The CTL will finish up its regular season this week with Chelan at Brewster on Tuesday.
