Chelan continues winning ways against Omak

The cold windy day in Omak on Saturday, April 19, couldn’t keep the Lady Goats down. They continued their winning ways by defeating the Pioneers in both games of the doubleheader, 12-2 and 10-6.
Chelan went into the game with a few injuries. Shortstop Alisha Love, who hurt her wrist in the second game of the year, has been in and out of the lineup all year and it looks as though she will be out for another six or more games. Kim Harter, last year’s MVP, has been battling shoulder problems all year and was on the bench in game one until AnnaAlise Nelson took a hard shot in the face which knocked her out of game one.
Harter came in and pitched six remaining innings for the win, walking onlyone and striking out five.
Offensively, Kilee Lippincott was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Catcher Anna Pickett was 2 for 4 along with Meisha Moro. First baseman Amanda Van Diest was 2 for 3 on the day and Lyndsey Fox, who is proving to be a tough batter at the plate, was 3 for 3 with a double.
In the nightcap, both the defense and Kim Harter struggled, but the girls pulled out a tough 10-6 win over the Lady Pioneers.
Harter gave up six runs, three of them earned on 10 hits, five walks and nine strikeouts.
Offensively, Jamie Brunner was 2 for 5, Amanda Van Diest was 2 for 4 with a double, and Taylor McClellan, Lyndsey Fox were both 2 for 4. AnnAlise Nelson re-entered play after the first game, first inning shot to the face, and went 2 for 2. “It was nice to see her back on the field,” said Coach Jeff Barker.
“The top of our order struggled in these games, but it was nice to see our five through nine hitters do a great job and pull these games out.” Chelan is now 9-1 in league (12-1 overall). “The girls have now run off 11 straight games in a row. We’ll see if we can keep this going.”
The girls play Tonasket on April 24 there and then return home on Friday, April 25 to take on the Lake Roosevelt Raiders, beginning at
